Ironfish had the expertise. Google just couldn’t see it yet.

Ironfish is a Sydney property investment company helping Australian families build property portfolios and long-term wealth.

It had something most competitors would pay for: genuine in-house expertise. Its website traffic did not reflect it.

This account draws on WP Creative’s published Ironfish delivery record. Reported outcomes describe that engagement; they are not a forecast for another website.

Ironfish

The result, in three numbers

2x organic traffic.

39.9K visits in six months, against 20K in the six months before.

Expert-led content.

The published delivery account describes working with Ironfish’s in-house specialists.

Technical and content work together.

The audit identified technical blockers, content gaps and an undeveloped backlink strategy.

The public case reports approximately doubled traffic over six months, but does not publish the underlying analytics series or exact comparison dates. The 20K and 39.9K totals below are the existing project record, not a current traffic audit. I have omitted the lead-conversion percentage because its event definition and denominator are not established.

The commercial problem

Organic traffic had been stuck at around 1,500 visitors a month. Ranking keywords were flat. New content went up and nothing happened.

Our audit’s read was that authority was the main bottleneck. Ironfish had no link-building strategy, so its domain rating stood still, and Google had little reason to rank new pages above bigger players. In property investment, that means losing high-intent searchers to competitors with louder domains, even when your answers are better.

Underneath that, the audit found technical blockers and content gaps as well.

The call we made

1. Put the experts in the content. We did not write generic property articles. My team paired Ironfish’s in-house property specialists with SEO research on trending topics and search intent. Their knowledge, our structure.

2. Earn authority, don’t buy it. We studied who linked to competitors, then built relationships and content that attract links naturally. No bought links, no swaps. It is slower, and it stays clear of the link schemes Google’s spam policies describe, rather than treating a link as safe simply because a provider calls it ethical.

3. Make it a monthly habit. A monthly Growth Plan kept the work moving: updates based on user feedback, monthly CRO and security audits, and ongoing performance work.

“Content without authority is a library nobody can find. Expertise is the moat. SEO’s job is to carry it to the people searching.”

What changed

Traffic is only one part of the result. Without a defined conversion event and comparison base, this page cannot turn that traffic change into a quantified sales or lead claim.

In their words

“WP Creative is an incredible agency with a talented and dynamic support team. They are the right people for getting the job done with speed and efficiency.”

What I learned

1. Your experts are your unfair advantage. AI can produce generic articles in seconds. It cannot produce your team’s judgement. Content built on real expertise is what earns links and trust.

2. Diagnose the bottleneck before commissioning more content. Check technical access, useful content and relevant external references together; this one engagement cannot establish which factor matters most for every site.

3. Clean tactics compound. Links earned through relationships tend to hold their value. Shortcuts tend to become a clean-up job.

Before you commission another article

Three checks I’d run before paying for more content:

  1. Are your existing pages ranking anywhere? If good pages sit on page five, new pages will join them there. Fix authority and technical blockers first.
  2. Who links to your top competitors, and why? Their backlink profile is a map of the publications, partners and resources your market already trusts.
  3. Is your expertise visible on the page? Named authors, real experience and specific examples. That is what tells readers, search engines and AI answers that a page deserves trust.
