At Nirmal Web Studio, we work mainly with 3 CMS to get our Ecommerce project done. WordPress with WooCommerce is one of our favourites to get the job done.  We also use Magento and Open Cart for the more complex system and where clients specify their ideal requirements.

We have recently sunk our heads and skills in a number of .Net Ecommerce projects. And, we only have good words for the amazing CMS products we have used. There are many Microsoft systems that can be used to build eCommerce platforms. Sitecore, Kentico, Sitefinity and, Umbraco are just a few of them.

However, there isn’t a glove to fit all. Some are great for mid-sized businesses while some are great for high volume eCommerce business.

We recently worked with Umbraco and out of the blue, we got fascinated with Umbraco.

This article summarises the Umbraco E-commerce options and features of this awesome ecosystem.

Before we dive into the real meat of it, let’s briefly get the info about the platforms made by Microsoft Technologies.

Sitecore

site-core

It’s the leading CMS used by many SME’s to fortune 500 companies. eCommere is only a small part of this huge product. It really specialises on marketing automation and personalisation making buying decision a breeze. This platform is perfect for eCommerce businesses with large volumes, especially when it needs a wider combination of the system.

Kentico

.net cms, ecommerce and online marketing platforem

Particularly famous for mid-sized businesses that have a system with non-standard ordering, Kentico packs a punch when it comes to eCommerce CMS. Unlike Sitecore, Kentico doesn’t have many CRM or ERP integrations. However, there are useful resources that help in integrations. One prime example is Kentico REST Service.

Sitefinity

web-CMS

If you are looking for a CMS that can be easily integrated into an existing eCommerce framework, Sitefinity should be your choice. The only area it’s lacking is its technological development in terms of marketing automation, personalisation and eCommerce. The major selling point of this platform is its CMS that has an improved the user-friendly interface.

Umbraco
